Scheduled to hit the cinemas in the summer of next year, on May 27th and June-July throughout several European countries, Japan and Australia, Alice Through the Looking Glass is the follow-up of the 2010 charming fantasy Alice In Wonderland.
Resulted from the collective efforts of James Bobin and Tim Burton, the movie is inspired and based on the novels of Lewis Carroll. Writer Linda Woolverton adapted the screenplay for the many iconic characters, therefore molding a delicious adventure for children and adults alike.
The emblematic cast of Burton returns with a fresh appearance, thanks to the enlarged makeup department and Colleen Atwood, the most gifted costume designer who allured viewers into the marvelous fictional world of Burton and Carroll (which isn’t at all an easy task to accomplish).
James Bobin is known for having directed movies such as The Muppets and Muppets Most Wanted and for this movie he dared to team up with the revered Tim Burton.
The mastermind behind Nightmare Before Christmas, notorious for his gothic fantasy imageries and highly creative nuances left matters to Bobin for sketching the magical realm of Alice.
The sequel will feature, as aforementioned, the classic line-up of Johnny Depp as The Mad Hatter, Helena Bonham Carter as the irksome Red Queen, Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Anne Hathaway as The White Queen. Last but not least, Michael Sheen will voice The White Rabbit or better yet, the whimsical tea-aholic hare, Alan Rickman will effuse wisdom and life into The Blue Caterpillar, whereas Stephen Fry will make the Cheshire Cat frolic. Sounds fun, doesn’t it? Especially with Danny Elfman as the man bringing music to your ears! The teaser trailer, recently released by Disney will prove why everyone is so excited!
