The series currently airing season 5 on ABC is a medley of fantasy, adventure and romance, created by Adam Horowitz and Edward Kitsis (notable for producing TRON: Legacy and Lost).
The series was enthusiastically praised ever since its premiere on ABC on the 23rd of October, 2011. Since then, the American TV series was ongoing, having recently been renewed for a fifth season (September 27th, 2015).
With Ginnifer Goodwin (Something Borrowed), Jennifer Morrison (Warrior), Robert Carlyle (28 Weeks Later) and Lana Parrilla in leading roles, the show managed to not only offer an innovative approach to the fairy tale genre, but it also highlighted hardworking and dedicated actors.
Centered around the fictitious town of Storybrooke, Maine, the storyline presents an uncanny reality where fabulous situations occur – such as fantastic characters who traveled from the imaginary realm into the real world. The residents of Storybrooke, under the curse of the maleficent Evil Queen have emerged from their land of wonders into the mundane life, where they have no memory of their past actions. Consequently, they were not able to escape this reality in question, having been trapped in it for more than twenty-eight years, unaware of their unchanging appearance or extraordinary elements that ornate their persona.
Their distressing situation is at the hands of the sole possible rescuer, bounty hunter Emma Swan. Teleported from the Enchanted Forest as an infant, Bella survived the baleful spell of the Evil Queen and Rumplestiltskin, leaving matters to her to save her parents, Snow White and Prince Charming along with the rest of the small town’s inhabitants.
The series, which was awarded the Favorite New TV Drama trophy takes its viewers all the way to the land of Camelot in the 5th season, as characters seek to find Merlin, the fabled sorcerer who stands alone as the one capable to free Bella from the shackles of the Dark One. Bringing forth new characters, e.g. Merlin, Violet, Merida, Guinevere and Arthur, the 5th season started out enchanting, furious and surprising as always! Don’t forget to turn on ABC every Sunday at 8pm ET/7pm CT.
