The Universal Studios are currently working on a big project – a new Mummy trilogy planned to happen in an ordinary universe. The scriptwriter of the Star Trek and Mission Impossible 3, Alex Kurtzman, is the new director of the future movie The Mummy based on the script written by Jon Spaihts (Prometheus), and apparently the Universal Studios have thought about who’ going to be the main actress in the movie. For those who didn’t know this, the producers now want to change the movie’s genre by placing a woman in the main role.
Sofia Boutella (Kingsman: The Secret Service) is currently on top of the list for this movie and it’s most likely that she’ll take the main role.
Madonna’s ex dancer has launched herself into the acting world by debuting in small French movie and ‘exploding’ in Street Dance 2; her career is now ascending on the Hollywood stage with the movie Kingsman: The Secret Service as a negative character. She has received other important roles in Star Trek: Beyond and she’ll act in the thriller The Coldest City, along with Charlize Theron.
Apart that the Mummy is going to be a woman, everything else in the scenario is kept unknown. Another actor to possibly be in the movie would be Tom Cruise as an ex marine, which shall place the action closer to the present days. Chris Morgan, another movie superviser, claimed by the beginning of the year that the new Mummy movie shal go somewhere between horror and adventure, but considering that Sofia Boutella and Tom Cruise are the possible actors to play in this movie, well, we think that it’s going to be more of an action film. The Universal Studios are hoping that their upcoming production shall be a major success after launching The Mummy on March 24, 2017.
