About Game
Shadow of the Colossus is an action-adventure game developed by Team Ico at Sony Computer Entertainment Japan and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. Directed by Fumito Ueda, it is regarded as a spiritual successor to Ico. The story follows Wander, a young man who enters a forbidden land hoping to revive a girl named Mono, and who is told by a voice named Dormin that he must defeat sixteen colossi to do so. Players cross a largely empty, seamless open world on foot and on horseback, using a sword, a bow, and light reflected from the sword to locate each colossus, then climb its body to strike its weak points. The game received wide critical acclaim for its minimalist design, atmosphere, and music, though its frame rate drew criticism. It was remastered for the PlayStation 3 in 2011 and remade by Bluepoint Games for the PlayStation 4 in 2018, and unofficial PC ports of the remake have since appeared.
