About Game
Killzone is a 2004 first-person shooter developed by Guerrilla Games and published by Sony Computer Entertainment for the PlayStation 2. It is the first installment of the Killzone series. Set in the year 2357, the game follows Captain Jan Templar of the Interplanetary Strategic Alliance as he fights the invading Helghast forces on his homeworld of Vekta. Players control a small squad of characters across a war-torn planet, using a wide range of weapons in single-player missions and in multiplayer modes that include online play. Before release it was widely touted as a rival to Halo, but it received mixed reviews, with praise for its visuals, sound, and art design and criticism of its AI, controls, and technical issues. It was followed by several sequels, beginning with Killzone 2, and a remaster was released for the PlayStation 3 in 2012.
